Updated Monday, May 4, 2015 | 4:08 p.m.

The body of a 14-year-old student was found at Coronado High School Sunday, according to Henderson Police and the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Police were called about 2:30 p.m. to the school, located at 1001 Coronado Center Drive, near Seven Hills Drive and Sunridge Heights Parkway, to investigate a report of a female passed out near a field, Henderson Police spokeswoman Michelle French said.

The girl died of multiple blunt-force injuries and jumped from a height, according to the Coroner's Office. Her death was determined to be a suicide, the office said.

She was a freshman at Coronado, Clark County School District public information specialist David Roddy said.

On Monday, Coronado principal Michael Piccininni sent a letter to parents informing them about the girl's death.

"We are working with our students to ensure they have the support and resources they need to get through this difficult time," Piccininni wrote. "Grief counselors are on campus and available to those who may want that assistance."
