Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will make a campaign stop today at Rancho High School, where she's expected to lay out her goals to fix the nation's immigration system.

The former first lady and secretary of state will hold a roundtable discussion at 3:15 p.m. inside the campus with a group of Nevadans affected by immigration laws. The chat will be moderated by prominent prominent Las Vegas immigrant Astrid Silva.

The trip will also be a chance for Clinton to test the waters in a state that witnessed a rancorous fight between her and President Barack Obama during its 2008 Democratic caucus. The contest ended in a split decision, with Clinton taking the popular vote and Obama winning the most nominating delegates to the Democratic National Convention.

The Las Vegas visit follows similar small-scale stops in New Hampshire and Iowa, where she spelled out four central themes for her campaign: rebuilding the economy, strengthening families, fixing the political system and fighting terrorism.

After the event she'll head to a fundraiser at the home of Brian Greenspun — CEO, publisher and editor of the Greenspun Media Group, which publishes the Las Vegas Sun and lasvegassun.com.

The Nevada stop precedes a three-day fundraising trip through California.
