Witnesses sought after man dies from punch outside Paris

Metro Police detectives are seeking witnesses of an altercation at the Paris valet area early Sunday morning that left a man dead.

Police were dispatched to the Strip resort at 4:20 a.m. after a report of an injured man on the ground.

Officers discovered a man unconscious with an apparent head injury. He was transported to University Medical Center, where he later died.

The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the man Thursday as 27-year-old DaShawn Antwon Fouch Hawkins.

The police investigation revealed that the victim was punched by a black male adult, fell to the ground and lost consciousness.

Police are looking for the occupants of cars that were in the valet area at the time of the incident. One vehicle was described as a small, red 4-door crossover-type vehicle with a sunroof. The vehicle was being driven by a man and a had a female passenger. The second vehicle at the valet was described as a 4-door white Chevrolet Impala with a sunroof that was driven by a female.
