Updated Friday, May 8, 2015 | 9:20 a.m.

A 17-year-old girl has been arrested after police say she fled the scene of a collision that sent two people to the hospital in critical condition Thursday night.

Metro Police received a call around 10 p.m. about a collision between a motorcycle and a car on Maryland Parkway near Silverado Ranch Boulevard.

A 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle was heading northbound in the left travel lane of Maryland Parkway, approaching Le Baron Drive, when a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu leaving the driveway of Cici's Pizza on Maryland Parkway pulled in front of it, hitting the front of the Kawasaki and causing its two riders to fly off the bike and hit the street, police said.

The riders were taken to Sunrise Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the car fled the scene, but was found nearby and arrested, police said.

The driver is not suspected of driving impaired, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
