Police ID man shot dead in east valley backyard

A 21-year-old man killed in an overnight shooting Saturday in the east valley has been identified as Las Vegas resident Zachary Jordan Huff, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Metro Police responded about 12:40 a.m. Saturday to a home in the 4700 block of Yuma Avenue, near Charleston and Nellis boulevards, to investigate a report of shots fired, police said,

Huff was found in the backyard with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on scene, police said.

The coroner's office ruled the death a homicide.

Investigators believe Huff was involved in a confrontation with several males in the backyard prior to the shooting and that the incident may have been narcotics related, police said.

Metro is asking anyone with additional information to call the department's homicide section at 702-828-3521 or email [email protected]. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or visit crimestoppersofnv.com.
