Metro Police shoot dog after report of attack

Metro Police shot a dog today after officers responded to reports that two dogs attacked a person in the southeast valley, officials said.

Officers responded to the report about 12:40 p.m. in the 4700 block of Sheppard Drive and encountered two dogs, police said. One of the dogs was shot and the other is still on the loose in the area, police said.

The incident took place in a residential area near Boulder Highway and Tropicana Avenue.
