Man serving time for securities fraud dies in prison

A 68-year-old inmate died on Monday after multiple hospital stays since his incarceration, according to prison officials.

John Englehart died at the infirmary of the High Desert State Prison in Indian Springs. Since the start of his prison sentence on May 20, 2014, Englehart has had five hospital stays in Las Vegas for a total of 150 days, the Nevada Department of Corrections reported.

Englehart was serving a sentence of 22 to 96 months for securities fraud.

The Clark County Coroner's Office responded to the institution. Cause and manner of death are not yet available.
