A judge set a new court date for an Idaho woman and her brother from California facing murder and conspiracy charges in the hatchet slaying of the woman's husband in Las Vegas.

Justice of the Peace Ann Zimmerman said Friday she wants to meet Tuesday with lawyers before setting a preliminary hearing date for Maria Olga Hernandez and Hector Trinidad Gutierrez.

The 33-year-old Hernandez is from Burley, Idaho.

The 22-year-old Gutierrez is from Visalia, California.

Neither has been asked to enter a plea.

They're accused of killing 43-year-old Enrique Gil Hernandez early Monday outside a vehicle several miles west of the Las Vegas Strip.

Prosecutor Frank Coumou says a decision will be made in coming weeks whether to seek the death penalty.
