Daughter of Las Vegas guitar manufacturer found dead in California

The 28-year-old daughter of a well-known Las Vegas guitar manufacturer was found dead in the desert near Needles, Calif., late last month, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.

Las Vegas resident Lindsey Star Roman — daughter of guitar retailer Ed Roman, who died in 2011 — was found unresponsive about 10:45 p.m. Oct. 25 in the desert near U.S. 95, about 15 miles north of Interstate 40, according to a news release from the department. Needles is about 110 miles south of Las Vegas.

A male who found Roman near his campsite notified officials, and the Needles sheriff’s station responded to the scene, the release said.

Her cause of death was not immediately available.

Detectives from the homicide detail of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division are investigating the death, according to the release.

A source close to the family declined to comment on the circumstances of Lindsey Star Roman's death and said the family is asking for privacy at this time.

Ed Roman's customers included music legends like Chuck Berry, John Lennon and Frank Zappa.

Anyone with additional information on the case can call the homicide detail's Det. Patty Ruiz at (909) 387-3589. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call the We-tip Hotline at (800) 78-CRIME (27463) or visit wetip.com.
