Letter to the editor:

Congress focusing on wrong mistake

While televised congressional hearings are great theater, most of us instinctively know they will not provide any conclusions. Their primary purpose is diversion, a soothing elixir of extraneous pap.

Most critical thinkers believe the Iraq invasion was wrong. It has been described by some as the worst political decision in modern history. Why then is the congressional focus on Benghazi and not the resolution that mirrored our mistakes in Iraq? We justified the intrusion into Libya with many of the same excuses sanctioning Iraq’s. And although our deployment varied, the end result is identical.

It is imperative that we seek political aspirants whose judgment is proven and sound. Embracing a quagmire twice in the same decade is a disqualifier.
