Coroner IDs man killed in possible drug-related slaying

A man found dead Saturday at a vacant house near Flamingo Road and Arville Street in a possible drug-related homicide has been identified as 35-year-old Alexander George Nunez, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Metro Police officers were called about 1:45 p.m. Saturday to a report of a dead male at the house in the 4400 block of Via San Rafael, police said.

The person who reported the incident said Nunez might have been shot two to three days before he was found, police said.

Nunez, whose city of residence was not immediately available, died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to the Coroner's Office.

Detectives believe Nunez was at the house with other people when an argument erupted, police said.

Many people were using the house, but there was no owner or renter residing there, police said.

During the argument, someone heard a gunshot, and Nunez was seen on the ground, according to police. No suspects had been identified as of Sunday morning, police said.
