A Las Vegas man found dead last week after an arson and reported explosion at a house near Charleston and Lamb boulevards has been identified as 45-year-old Mario Jimenez, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Jimenez, whose cause and manner of death have not been released by the Coroner's Office, was found dead Nov. 16 in the single-story house at 52 Sherrill Circle after emergency crews were called to the scene about 12:30 p.m., according to Metro Police.

A man suffering burn and stab wounds was walking down the street as emergency crews arrived on scene, and he told authorities people were trapped in the house, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.

The man was taken to University Medical Center in serious condition, and two women found bound with plastic straps were taken to the hospital in critical condition, police and fire officials said.

Another person suffered smoke inhalation, police said.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue ruled the incident an arson case, and police said victims “were restrained inside of the residence” when the fire began.

The fire, which took about 10 minutes to get under control, caused about $150,000 damage, fire officials said.

The exact cause of the fire is not expected to be released until the Clark County District Attorney's Office has a chance to review the case, fire department spokesman Tim Szymanski said.

Metro homicide detectives were investigating the case.
