Burglary suspect caught after hitting Las Vegas police car

A burglary suspect is in jail after ramming a Metro Police vehicle before starting a high-speed chase.

KSNV-TV reports that the incident began around 1 a.m. Sunday near West Desert Inn and Arville Street.

Police say officers confronted a male burglary suspect who then refused to get out of his vehicle.

The man then allegedly struck at least one squad car and then drove away.

Police pursued the suspect's vehicle and were able to stop him about a mile away using a pit maneuver.

Police then arrested him.

Authorities say a few officers suffered cuts on their hands during the arrest.

The suspect, who has not been identified, is facing charges of assault on a police officer, vehicular eluding and other counts.
