Bernie Sanders can address our nation’s pressing issues

Brian Greenspun’s column “Moving beyond email servers to what really matters” (Las Vegas Sun, Sept. 13) was right to conclude with “It is time for the American voters to get serious, too. Enough with the emails and apologies.”

The issues we face in Nevada and across the country are real and shouldn’t be drowned out by the Republican insult-fest or the email soap opera.

What about the abysmal education record in Nevada or the appalling rate of youth unemployment throughout the country? What about creating good-paying jobs and redressing the disgusting growth in income inequality or the impact of climate change?

These and other issues that concern me and most Americans need to be addressed.

Fortunately, Bernie Sanders has a long, steady track record of addressing these issues. We need our media to take both him and the issues seriously.
