Letter to the editor:

Let’s record acts of Congress members

Here’s an idea that could improve the approval ratings of Congress, which are at 14 percent and sinking fast.

We should require congressmen and congresswomen to wear body cameras when conducting the people’s business that record both audio and video.

There is a movement afoot across America to require police officers to wear cameras to record their interactions with criminals to ensure police are acting in accordance with the law to protect citizens’ rights.

The same should hold true of our elected representatives!

After all, Congress is writing the laws we must live by and is interacting daily with many more criminals than an ordinary police officer does.

And there is no record or scrutiny of their cloaked interactions with these criminals to ensure the congressman or congresswoman is acting in accordance with the Constitution to protect the rights of the citizens they allegedly represent.
