Nick Kinnard scored four touchdowns on offense, and intercepted a pass on defense to lead Clark to a 38-14 win over Western on Friday night.

Kinnard completed 9-of-16 passes for 167 yards and two scores through the air, and added two more touchdowns with his feet.

The junior quarterback’s biggest weapon was 6-foot-3 tight end Amir Boone, who caught all but one of Kinnard’s passes.

“He’s definitely a weapon for us, and we got him involved early and often,” Clark coach Don Willis said. “He was hurt for a couple games early in the year. Now he’s healthy again and we are hoping to close out this season and keep him rolling.”

Boone torched the Warriors’ secondary with eight catches for 160 yards and two touchdowns.

Isaiah Bigby also scored for the Chargers (4-3, 2-3) with a rushing touchdown of his own.

The loss brings Western’s losing streak to 43 games, with two tough games against Cheyenne and Mojave to finish up the season.

The win keeps Clark's playoff hopes alive, as the Chargers draw within a game of Mojave for fourth place in the Sunset Division.

“We started off the season with the playoffs as our goal, and we feel like we stubbed our toe along the way. But it’s still our goal and we feel like we can get it done,” Willis said.

The Chargers will control their own destiny when they take on Mojave (4-3, 3-2) next Friday in what could amount to an elimination game.
