Woman in motorized wheelchair hit, killed crossing Nellis Boulevard

A woman in a motorized wheelchair hit and killed by a pickup truck early this morning in the east valley, has been identified as Pamela Josephine Martino, 60, of Las Vegas, according to Metro Police.

Martino was crossing Nellis Boulevard, south of Desert Inn Road, about 4:20 a.m. outside a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a 2006 Chevy Silverado, police said. She was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where she later died, police said.

The 50-year-old man driving the truck remained at the scene, police said.

The crash marked the 84th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year, police said. The crash remains under investigation.
