Pedestrian hit by car, critically injured in Laughlin

A pedestrian crossing the street against a red traffic signal was hit by a car and critically injured Sunday night in Laughlin, according to Metro Police.

The accident happened about 10:15 p.m. at the intersection of Casino and Bruce Woodbury drives. A 2012 Dodge Avenger was headed north on Casino Drive, through the intersection with Bruce Woodbury, when the pedestrian stepped into the path of the vehicle and was struck, police said.

The pedestrian, identified as Gerald McClintock, 60, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., was taken to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center and later transferred to University Medical Center in Las Vegas with critical injuries, police said.

The accident remains under investigation, police said.
