Escaped inmate from prison camp captured in Las Vegas

Authorities apprehended an escaped inmate Tuesday in the east valley, more than a week after he fled from the minimum-security Ely Conservation Camp, according to Metro Police.

Courtland Kimble, 25, escaped Oct. 5 from the facility about 17 miles south of Ely, according to police and the Nevada Department of Corrections.

The Metro Police Criminal Apprehension Team, which includes officials from Henderson Police and the FBI, found Kimble at an apartment complex in the 5200 block of East Charleston Boulevard, near North Nellis Boulevard, police said.

He was booked into the Clark County jail, police said.

Kimble was serving a 15-year sentence for robbery with a deadly weapon, police said.
