Metro Police say a woman shot and killed by SWAT officers fired at least once at police moving toward a stolen car she refused to get out of outside a strip mall.

A police statement said no police were wounded in the exchange of gunfire Thursday morning in a shopping center parking lot near Jones Boulevard and Spring Mountain Road in the Spring Valley area of Las Vegas.

Police say the woman was seen driving a white four-door sedan erratically near Desert Inn Road and Rainbow Boulevard before she stopped.

Officials say she was seen waving a gun before firing at SWAT officers as they approached, shielded by an armored vehicle.

Officers returned fire, killing the woman.

Her identity and the names of the officers involved weren't immediately made public.
