Senior running back Sean White ran for three touchdowns, and Basic pitched its third shutout of the season as the Wolves ravaged Eldorado 52-0 on Friday.

It is the third time this season that Basic (6-1, 2-0) has scored 50 or more points while shutting its opponent out — something the school had done only once since 2008.

“The defense completely shut them down tonight,” Basic coach Jeff Cahill said. “We flew around the field and got a lot of pressure on their quarterback.”

The Wolves sacked Eldorado (2-5, 0-2) five times on the night, and quarterback Deven Dabbs — who has been one of the hottest quarterbacks in the valley lately — was taken out of the game.

White carried the load on offense for Basic, scoring all three touchdowns in the first half to give his team a 36-0 lead at halftime before sitting the second half.

“He was running real hard today. He was breaking tackles left and right,” Cahill said.

The win keeps Basic tied atop the Southeast League standings with Foothill, who it faces next week.

“You can throw all of what has happened before that game out the window,” Cahill said. “It’s coming down to Basic and Foothill. Both teams are on winning streaks. It’s going to be a tough rivalry game and it’s going to be fun.”
