Travelers arriving at McCarran International Airport make their way through the taxi queue in Las Vegas on Friday, March 1, 2013. Passengers will soon be able to hire rides from ride-hailing services at the airport.

Visitors flying into Las Vegas can soon hail an Uber or Lyft to reach the Strip's glittering casino-resorts.

Clark County commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to grant temporary business licenses needed for temporary operating permits at the county-run McCarran International Airport.

Airport spokesman Chris Jones says the companies should receive proposed agreements in the next couple of days and only when the agreements are returned with the necessary information would drivers be able to accept rides to and from the airport. The airport plans to charge the companies $2.45 per pickup and drop-off.

Without the licenses, the companies' drivers have been barred from the airport. Nearly 900 drivers have been cited and fined $100 each since mid-September.

County leaders are crafting a final ordinance expected to be considered Nov. 17.
