North Las Vegas Police identified a man arrested Tuesday afternoon in connection with a hidden camera found in the bathroom of a clothing store.

Police allege the suspect, Eduardo Chavez, 37, hid the camera at the store in the 1900 block of West Craig Road, near Clayton Street.

An employee found the camera Aug. 20, the same day it was planted, in a public bathroom, police said. Video shows a man hiding the camera in the unisex bathroom while no one is looking and then leaving the store.

Police declined to name the store and would not say what the camera may have captured or whether anyone would have had the opportunity to recover the images.

Officer Aaron Patty said Chavez was arrested on one count of capturing images of the private area of another person. A conviction could get him one year in county jail.

Chavez was booked into the Las Vegas City Jail, Patty said.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
