Traffic roundup: Teen hit by vehicle in North Las Vegas has died

A teen who was hit by a vehicle in North Las Vegas this afternoon has died, according to police.

The crash was reported about 3:30 p.m. near Commerce Street and West Washburn Road, North Las Vegas Police Officer Steven Wiese said.

The teen was taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries, and he was later pronounced dead, Wiese said.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, he said.

Police are investigating the incident, and Commerce is closed in both directions at the West La Madre Way intersection, he said.

• Also, a crash on the ramp from Interstate 15 southbound to U.S. 95 southbound blocked the left lane about 5:40 p.m., according to the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada.

• A white Buick Rendezvous rolled over on the 215 Beltway eastbound near Windmill Lane about 4:10 p.m., according to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chelsea Stuenkel. No one was taken to the hospital, and the rollover happened on the right shoulder, so no lanes were blocked, she said. Traffic was moving slowly in the area, but the scene was cleared up about 5:10 p.m., she said.

• Two semitractor-trailers were involved in a crash today near the intersection of West Washington Avenue and the Interstate 15 South exit ramp, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Nobody was hurt in the wreck, which was reported about 12:20 p.m., Stuenkel said. As of 2 p.m., the crash was still blocking the intersection, she said.

• One person was taken to University Medical Center this morning after a two-vehicle crash near the South Point that closed lanes on Las Vegas Boulevard South, according to Metro Police.

The accident happened about 11 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Las Vegas Boulevard South, near the Silverado Ranch Boulevard intersection, Officer Laura Meltzer said. The road has since been reopened.

One person was taken to the hospital with injuries that did not appar life threatening, she said. The age and gender of the person were not immediately available.

• A three-vehicle crash on U.S. 95 South at Rancho Drive briefly blocked the right lanes this morning. The incident was reported about 9:10 a.m., and the vehicles were quickly moved to the right shoulder, Stuenkel said. The scene was cleared by about 10 a.m.
