Fire
A fire broke out Wednesday night at a Republic Services recycling plant in North Las Vegas, sending black smoke into the air and causing an unknown amount of damage, according to a statement from the city's fire department.
Crews received multiple calls about 11:40 p.m. of a fire at the business, located at 333 W. Gowan Street, near Commerce Street, according to a statement from the North Las Vegas Fire Department.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue and the Clark County Fire Department also responded to the second-alarm fire, which began in a truckload of materials and spread to the facility, the release said.
No injuries were reported in the incident, the release said.
The fire was contained by 4:15 a.m., the department said.
A damage estimate is not yet available, but the fire was determined to be an accident, the department said.
The incident is the latest in a series of recycling plant fires over the past few months.
A large fire broke out in June at Las Vegas Recycling, located in North Las Vegas, and more than a month later, crews were called to a northeast valley recycling center fire.
