The owner of Las Vegas bakery chain the Cupcakery was arrested in Washoe County this week on counts of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance as well as a first-degree count of allowing child abuse/endangerment, according to county records.

Pamela Jenkins, 35, was booked Monday into the Washoe County jail on nine counts including two counts of trafficking and five possession counts, according to the website of the Washoe County Sheriff's Office.

Jenkins was in the Sparks area for the Burning Man festival, which began Sunday, her attorney, Richard Schonfeld, confirmed today.

Jenkins had not been officially charged as of this morning, according to the Sparks Justice Court.

Schonfeld said he expects she will be released this afternoon and that her business is not expected to be affected by the incident.

The arrest comes weeks after the opening of the third Cupcakery location at 1150 E. Flamingo Road, near Maryland Parkway.
