A man shot in the northwest valley today knew the shooter, and the suspect has been arrested, according to Metro Police.
Police were called about 1 p.m. to the shooting in the 7200 block of West Lake Mead Boulevard, near U.S. 95, Officer Laura Meltzer said.
The man and another man had a confrontation, and the victim was shot once, Lt. Will Huddler said.
The suspect, an acquaintance of the injured man, was taken into custody, Huddler said.
Passers-by rendered aid to the victim before medical personnel arrived on scene, and he was later taken to University Medical Center with injuries believed to be nonlife-threatening, police said.
Detectives responded to the scene, Meltzer said.
