Public hearing set on Southwest Gas increase

CARSON CITY — The state Public Utilities Commission has set Sept. 15 to hear consumer feedback on proposed rate increases for Southwest Gas customers in Southern and Northern Nevada that would go into effect in January.

In its annual rate adjustment, the utility is proposing to increase rates for Southern Nevada residential customers by an average of $1.30 a month from April to October. From November to March, the average bill would go up $3.78 a month.

In Northern Nevada, the average monthly bill would increase $2.13 in the summer and $7.13 a month in winter.

There will be a 6 p.m. video conference session in Las Vegas at 9075 W. Diablo Drive, Suite 250, and in Carson City at the commission’s offices at 1150 E. William St.
