Small plane with landing-gear trouble safely on ground

A small plane with landing-gear issues touched down safely at the North Las Vegas Airport this afternoon, according to the city fire department.

The Piper PA-32 landed without its gear fully extended, according to Ian Gregor of the Federal Aviation Administration. The FAA will investigate, he said.

Firefighters responded about 12:20 p.m. to the airport, and no smoke or fire was visible when crews arrived, North Las Vegas Fire Department Capt. Cedric Williams said. Crews left the scene about 12:50 p.m., he said.

The two people on the plane were not injured, he said.

The 1981 single-engine aircraft is registered to a Las Vegas owner, according to the FAA.
