Henderson house fire displaces resident; 2 dogs saved

Two dogs were rescued after a fire broke out at a single-family home in Henderson Monday afternoon, according to a fire department spokeswoman and the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada.

The owner wasn't home about 2:45 p.m. when the fire was reported at the house, located in the 800 block of Binbrook Drive, near Eastern Avenue and Sunridge Heights Parkway, Henderson Fire Department spokeswoman Kathleen Richards said.

The dogs were rescued, and one displaced adult was receiving help from the Red Cross.

A damage estimate and cause were not immediately available.
