Say goodbye to the rain, Las Vegas.

The chance of rainfall early Wednesday is officially about 10 percent, but there's no prediction of rainfall in the forecast for the next seven days, according to the National Weather Service.

Moisture from former Hurricane Linda is leaving the area, though the valley did see scattered showers Tuesday, according to meteorologist Caleb Steele.

Gauges measured 0.01 inch of rain near McCarran International Airport on Tuesday and 0.07 inch near Nellis Air Force Base, meteorologist Chris Stachelski said. About 0.25 to 0.5 inch fell in the Mount Charleston area, he said.

The official temperature at McCarran International Airport reached 82 degrees Tuesday, breaking the record for coolest high temperature on that date, Stachelski said.

The previous record for Sept. 15 — 83 degrees — was set in 1986. Records began in 1937.

Tuesday also had the coolest high temperature this year since May 24, according to the weather service.

A wind advisory issued Monday and mainly affecting the west valley was canceled Tuesday, but a new advisory was issued warning of winds up to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph in the Spring Mountains until 5 a.m. Wednesday, the weather service said.

As the chance of rain dries up, temperatures are expected to increase toward the end of the week, with a predicted high of 90 degrees Friday and 94 Saturday. Lows should remains near the mid 70s.
