Learn how to break free from handcuffs, build an improvised weapon, evade someone who is following you and identify whether someone is lying.

A former CIA officer is coming to Las Vegas to teach people skills that can help them survive the most sticky situations.

“I provide tricks, tips and strategies that probably one in a thousand Americans know... most of which requiring nothing more than your wits,” instructor Jason Hanson said. “Since leaving the CIA, I’ve dedicated my life to helping Americans learn essential survival tactics that can literally mean the difference between life and death for themselves or for a family member.”

The two-day course will be 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Oct. 16-17 at the Hampton Inn Tropicana Hotel, 4975 Dean Martin Drive, Las Vegas. Tuition costs $997.

Hanson’s techniques have been featured on “Dateline,” “Today” and “Shark Tank,” and he is the author of the forthcoming “Spy Secrets That Can Save Your Life: A Former CIA Officer Reveals Safety and Survival Techniques to Keep You and Your Family Protected.”
