Metro Police are seeking the public's help to locate a suspect in the August stabbing death of a Las Vegas man at a Spring Valley strip mall parking lot.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 32-year-old Sergey Mkhitaryan, who is wanted on a count of murder with a deadly weapon in connection with the Aug. 20 stabbing of 57-year-old Avetis Shilgevorkyan, police said.

Shilgevorkyan died of a chest wound after a fight outside the Shish Kabob House, at 6620 W. Flamingo Road, near Torrey Pines Drive, according to police and the Clark County Coroner's Office.

An investigation indicated Shilgevorkyan knew the person who stabbed him, police said.

Mkhitaryan is described as a white man of Armenian descent with brown hair and green eyes, police said. He is about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds, police said.

Police are asking anyone with additional information on Mkhitaryan's whereabouts or the case to call Metro's Homicide Section at 702-828-3521 or email [email protected]. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or go to crimestoppersofnv.com.
