Desert Oasis improves to 4-1 with victory over Valley

Orionne Addison caught a long touchdown pass from Brannon Flowers just before halftime that served as the highlight of Desert Oasis’ 56-6 win at Valley Friday night.

“We need to work on our passing and protection some more but it was nice to get that one tonight,” Desert Oasis coach Brad Talich said.

The score put the Diamondbacks up 35-0 and allowed them to achieve their goal of getting new players into the game during the second half. Talich thought it was important to instill experience into the deeper reaches of his roster, and got the opportunity to do it behind big performances from his usual stars.

Tyshun McClinton notched two rushing touchdowns, while Branden Peterson and Marquis Smalls also added scores on the ground.

“We had a lot of kids contribute,” Talich said, “and that’s what we were hoping for.”
