Christian Marshall had three touchdowns today for the Faith Lutheran football team in a 30-2 victory against host Mojave.
Crusaders coach Vernon Fox labeled it as his team’s best defensive performance of the season, but says there’s still plenty to work on.
“Obviously we got a positive result and we are proud of the effort,” Fox said. “(But) we weren’t as solid as I would like to be. We know there are some points we left out there.”
Faith Lutheran led 10-0 after the first quarter on a Brenden Joyce 6-yard touchdown run and 30-yard field goal from Ryan Callan. Marshall scored on runs of 1 and 2 yards, and on a 39-yard pass.
The Crusaders (4-1) won for the fourth straight week and are the lone team undefeated in the Sunset League. Fox expects the wins to continue.
“We try to focus one game at a time,” he said. “Our motto is 1-0, that is all that matters.”
