Former Sandoval adviser named to Nevada Athletic Commission

CARSON CITY — Gov. Brian Sandoval’s former chief legal adviser has been named to the Nevada Athletic Commission, which regulates boxing and other sporting events.

Michon Martin is general counsel and a senior vice president at Resorts World Las Vegas, which is being built on the Strip. She replaces Bill Brady, who resigned.

Martin was formerly the legal adviser for the governor and helped push through his tax and education programs at the 2015 Legislature.

Prior to joining the governor’s staff, she served as chief deputy attorney general.

“Michon is incredibly smart, well-reasoned and tough, which are all the qualities found in effective and respective commissioners,” Sandoval said.
