A 26-year-old man died after being struck by a car while crossing the street in the southeastern part of the valley Saturday night, according to Metro Police.
Also according to police:
A 2014 Fiat 500L traveling south on South Boulder Highway at 11:46 p.m. approached the intersection with East Tropicana on a green signal.
The man, who was crossing South Boulder Highway from west to east, entered the Fiat's path and was struck.
The driver of the Fiat, 35-year-old Justin Roberts, stayed at the scene.
The pedestrian was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
This incident, which is still under investigation, is the 78th traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction so far this year.
