Body found in central valley park may be homicide victim, police say

A man's body was found Saturday morning at a central Las Vegas Valley park, and Metro Police homicide detectives are investigating the case.

Officers were called about 9:20 a.m. Saturday to Doolittle Park, at 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd., near North Martin Luther King Boulevard, to help Las Vegas marshals with a report of a dead male, according to police.

The man had visible injuries, and medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene, police said.

It was not immediately clear what type of injuries he sustained.

Police said it appeared the victim may have been in a fight Saturday morning, but no suspects are in custody and the motive is unknown.

This is the 94th homicide this year investigated by Metro.

The identity of the deceased man will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
