How ironic: The GOP has spent the past seven years obstructing President Barack Obama in every effort he has made to make our country greater. Now the obstructionist activity is aimed at one of their own, Donald Trump. For seven years the GOP in Washington has pretty much shut down Congress and impeded any progress. But not only has the GOP had little success in stopping the president, it has created an anger and hostility toward its establishment among their own partygoers. Its own people are sick and tired of the gridlock it has caused, thus the popularity of “The Donald.”
Trump has become attractive and popular among a large section of the Republican Party to the point that the GOP is in a massive state of anxiety. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell recently gave Republicans in many states permission to start campaigning against Trump. The GOP is considering running a candidate against Trump if he wins the party’s nominee. The obstructionist ideas the GOP used against Obama seemed like a good idea at the time. Maybe not a good idea after all.
