51s use game-ending home run to win opener

What a great way to start the season.

Marc Krauss’ two-run home run to straight-away center with two outs in the ninth inning today gave the Las Vegas 51s a 6-4 victory against visiting Fresno in the season opener at Cashman Field.

Of the seven Las Vegas hits, four went for home runs. Solo shots were hit by Matt Reynolds, Travis Taijeron and Roger Bernadina.

Chase Bradford, a local product from Silverado High, pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the win.

The series resumes at 7:05 p.m. Friday.
