After sparring with potential buyers for a little over a month, retired boxer Mike Tyson has sold his home in the suburbs of Las Vegas for $1.475 million.

Chalk it up as a loss for Tyson, who bought the house in Seven Hills, a golf course community in Henderson, eight years ago for $1.75 million. He was asking $1,499,999 for the home.

The two-story contemporary, built in 2001 and remodeled last year, features such knockout details as vibrant marble and slate floors, vaulted ceilings and a grand entry with a 25-foot indoor waterfall. A skybridge framed in steel connects the upper areas of the home.

Within more than 5,800 square feet of space is a center-island kitchen, a great room, a walk-in wine room, five bedrooms and five bathrooms. In the master suite, a lavish bath is ready to go a few rounds with chandelier lighting, a steam shower and a freestanding soaking tub.

There are three fireplaces.

Outdoors, a covered patio opens to a swimming pool with two spas, custom lighting and a waterfall feature. A modern porte-cochere sits off the entrance to complete the grounds.

Kenneth Lowman of Luxury Homes of Las Vegas was the listing agent. Darwin Evans of Clear Sky Realty represented the buyer.

The 49-year-old Tyson is a former undisputed world heavyweight champion and holds a career record of 50 wins, including 44 knockouts, in 58 career bouts.

More recently, he has appeared as himself in the film "The Hangover" and the Adult Swim series "Mike Tyson Mysteries."

The retired fighter has since moved on to another home in the same neighborhood. In January, he paid $2.5 million for an Italian villa-style mansion of more than 10,400 square feet. Built in 2001, his new house features a two-story entry, two master suites and a resort-style swimming pool.
