Nevada jobless rate dips to 5.8 percent in March

CARSON CITY — Nevada’s jobless rate inched down to 5.8 percent in March. The state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reported today the rate fell by 0.1 percent from February.

Growth in employment rose by 2.8 percent from March 2015.

The national unemployment rate was 4.9 percent.

“All measures of the Silver State‘s economic health continue to show positive signs of recovery,” department economist Bill Anderson said.
