Lyoto Machida, former UFC light heavyweight champion, gives a thumbs-up as he arrives during a UFC news conference at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts Monday, Nov. 17, 2014.

In more than a decade in the UFC, Rashad Evans has only come into a fight as an underdog on three occasions.

The fourth comes today in Tampa, Fla., in the main event of UFC on Fox 19. Evans enters as a plus-165 (risking $1 to win $1.65) underdog against Glover Teixiera, who’s posted at minus-195 (risking $1.95 to win $1).

It’s the first time the betting market has ever installed Evans as an underdog outside of a championship bout or a fight with a former champion. The previous fighters the odds favored over Evans were Jon Jones, Lyoto Machida and Chuck Liddell.

Evans knocked out Liddell, a mentor of Teixeira, but lost in lopsided fashion to both Jones and Evans. Is anyone on the Sun’s picks panel behind Evans in his bid to reclaim past glory and pull an upset?

Find out below as picks from Las Vegas Sun’s Ray Brewer (21-13 year to date), KSNV’s Randy Howe (21-13), ESPN Radio’s Steve Cofield (20-13) and Las Vegas Sun’s Case Keefer (19-14) are listed alongside a breakdown and odds of every fight. UFC on Fox 19 begins with a preliminary card at 12:30 p.m. followed by the televised portion starting at 3 and the main card at 5.

Case Keefer can be reached at 702-948-2790 or [email protected]. Follow Case on Twitter at twitter.com/casekeefer.
