Metro Police have identified a man involved in a shooting Sunday in a northeast valley apartment complex that left one person dead and two others hospitalized.

Officers responded to the 3500 block of Dromedary Way, just after 2 p.m., to reports that a man was shot, Metro said in a release. They found an injured man on a stairway who had been been shot.

Around the same time, officers were called to the 4700 block of Sphinx Way, in the same complex, on multiple calls of shots being fired, police said. There, they found another man inside the apartment suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both men were taken to University Medical Center where one was pronounced dead and the other remains in critical condition, police said. Metro is ruling the man’s death a homicide, the 59th in Metro’s jurisdiction this year. The man’s identity will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Detectives later found a third man, 21-year-old Tevin Alhashemi, with gunshot wounds to his legs, and arrested him after he received treatment at University Medical Center, police said. Alhashemi faces charges of illegally owning and possessing a gun.

Metro said it believes the incident may have been related to narcotic and weapon sales.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shootings to contact Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-3521 or at [email protected]. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or crimestoppersofnv.com.
