British Airways' inaugural, nonstop flight from London to Las Vegas arrives at McCarran on Oct. 25, 2009.

The number of airport passengers going through Las Vegas keeps going up, but fewer of them are international travelers.

McCarran International Airport announced Thursday that traffic was up 5.5 percent last month compared to last year, with nearly 4.1 million passengers who flew in or out of Las Vegas in March 2016.

Domestic travel increased by 6.2 percent for the month, but international flights again saw a slight decline.

March had 1 percent fewer international passengers in March and 2.8 percent fewer passengers on international flights in February.

The overall number of passengers so far this year is up 7.1 percent compared to the first three months of 2015.

The 2015 year resulted in the third highest passenger count in airport history with more than 45 million passengers total.
