Authorities ID man, 77, pronounced dead after head-on crash

A man pronounced dead after a head-on crash Tuesday on State Route 160 has been identified as Richard Caffejian, 77, of Pahrump, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Caffejian was northbound when the pickup truck he was driving crossed the center line and crashed head-on into an SUV, troopers said. Caffejian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 52-year-old driver of the SUV was taken to University Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries. A 73-year-old passenger was flown to UMC in stable condition, troopers said.
