Rebels quick hits:

Additional UNLV football games selected for national TV

UNLV loses to San Diego State

L.E. Baskow

The last of the UNLV players and staff exit the tunnel for the last time this season as they face San Diego State in their game at Sam Boyd Stadium on Friday, November 21, 2015.

The Rebels will have two more chances to earn TV bonus money against their two main rivals, it was announced today. The Mountain West released the remainder of its national TV schedule this afternoon, and the Rebels appear four times, including two on ESPN Networks.

If those games — Oct. 8 at San Diego State and Nov. 26 against UNR — are selected for ABC, ESPN or ESPN2, both teams would receive a $500,000 bonus. If the games are shown on ESPNU or ESPN3, neither school receives any additional money.

The Rebels are already slated to get $30,000 for their Friday, Nov. 18 game at Boise State. Because of how the deal was reconfigured, Boise State receives its full share for any bonus-eligible games, while the other half goes into a pool for the remaining 10 teams (excluding Hawaii, which has its own deal).

UNLV will also appear on CBS Sports Network twice this season, first on Oct. 1 against Fresno State and then on Oct. 29 at San Jose State. Both of those games will kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

Kickoff times and TV coverage for the remaining games will be announced in the coming weeks.

The actual network for the Rebels’ games on ESPN Networks will be announced about 12 days before the game. UNLV hasn’t had any games flexed onto the moneymaking networks recently, but the Rebels couldn’t have picked better games to give themselves a chance.

San Diego State is the defending Mountain West champion and employs two former UNLV head coaches — Bobby Hauck and Jeff Horton — as its two associate head coaches. And the season-ending Battle for the Fremont Cannon could have bowl-game implications for either side, not to mention college football’s heaviest rivalry trophy on the line.

Here’s UNLV’s 2016 schedule with all currently available information:

9/1 — Jackson State

9/10 — at UCLA

9/17 — at Central Michigan

9/24 — Idaho

10/1 — Fresno State, 7:30 p.m., CBSSN

10/15 — at Hawaii

11/12 — Wyoming

11/18 — at Boise State, 6 or 6:30 p.m., ESPN2
