This has been one of the wettest Aprils on record, with 1.37 inches of rain and more possible on the last day of the month.

Only April 1965 — 2.5 inches — and April 1941 — 1.68 inches — had more rain than this April, according to the National Weather Service. And with several tenths of an inch possible today, this April could slide into second place.

Normally, only about 0.2 inches of rain falls this month, weather service meteorologist Justin Pullin said.

February is typically the soggiest month, with about 0.75 inches of rain.

Light showers, meanwhile, are possible over the weekend, with a 60 percent chance Saturday and a 30 percent chance Sunday.
