Two people were killed when a small, single-engine aircraft crashed about 70 miles south of Las Vegas, according to Metro Police.
A Metro search-and-rescue crew and the Clark County Fire Department responded to Nipton Road west of Searchlight, near the California state line, about 5 p.m. The aircraft’s two occupants were dead when units arrived, Metro said.
The aircraft was an Extra EA-300, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said.
The National Transportation Safety Board is taking over the investigation, Metro said. More details were not immediately available.
