Fire in vacant house extends to roof of home next door, but no injuries reported

A fire broke out at a vacant house and then extended to a neighboring home Sunday morning.

According to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue officials, firefighters responded about 10:25 a.m. to the one-story, boarded-up house at 5225 Pebble Beach Blvd., near North Michael Way and Vegas Drive, where flames were coming from underneath a carport.

The fire extended to the roof of a neighboring house, at 5221 Pebble Beach Blvd., which was occupied. Officials said crews quickly brought the fire under control, and the house only received minor damage to the exterior.

The fire originated inside the vacant home, but the cause remains under investigation, officials said. A property damage estimate was not available at this time.

No injuries were reported and no one was displaced by the fire.
